To help your child understand phone etiquette, have them listen you some of your conversations, especially how you answer the phone and end conversations. Teach them not to give out personal information (such as their name), or information about what you are doing if you are not available. Speaking clearly is important since voices over the phone are already hard to understand. How they answer and handle themselves on the phone does leave on impression on the caller, so practice on some pretend calls with them before letting them loose!
