OUR MISSION

We don't sit; we play!®

Most of our childcare providers are studying to be nurses or are pre-med or are college or graduate students in a variety of fields (international business, economics, teaching, etc.). We have professional nannies, lifeguards, Emergency Medical Technicians and school teachers. Quite a few have taken child development classes, and all simply love children.

Many of our babysitters are bilingual, with over half a dozen languages represented. We also have older sitters as well as teachers who specialize in families of children with special needs. Our babysitters' experience, references and talents speak for themselves.

Why should I use Destination Sitters babysitting agency?

While everyone assumes that the state has minimum standards for temporary childcare, there are NO state standards or licensing requirements for temporary childcare.

Destination Sitters created the strictest requirements in the industry for its sitters.

All Destination Sitters
1. are background checked, drug tested, & health checked (TB)
2. are both First Aid & CPR certified
3. have professional and personal references fully and thoroughly checked
4. are undergraduates, graduates, students, moms, and grandmothers
5. average between 22-28 years old, though we also have older sitters (minimum age is 18)

Many companies claim to be "Licensed and Bonded." Since there is no state "license" for temporary childcare, their license is merely a city business license, which all businesses are required to buy. The bond is most often either a surety bond (for the sitter to get paid) or for theft (usually limited to $3,000-$5,000) for the owner, not the sitter. A bond is not liability insurance.

BOOK NOW

Can I get the same babysitter every time?

Parents can request the same babysitter every time or for multiple day sits. We will do our best to accommodate the same sitter for a family's babysitting request. It's subject to the babysitter's availability, we suggest booking your sit request at least 24 hours in advance, and more if it's a multi-day request. Of course, any last-minute sit requests are always subject to the staff on hand and our confirming a babysitter to you.

Can I find out more about my babysitter in advance?

After booking a babysitter, parents will receive a sit confirmation, which includes the sitter's profile and specific information confirming their hotel, hotel's address, date(s), and time(s) of their child care request.

Parents should review their sit confirmation and make sure ALL information they provide to us is correct; confirm the dates and times provided. Many cities have hotels with similar names and/or multiple locations.…For example: Hyatt, Hilton, Marriott, Four Seasons, Loews, etc, all have several hotels in each area in which we provide child care services; we want to send the sitter to the correct location.

How much notice do I need to give?

We suggest you make a child care reservation at least 24 hours in advance to match your children with the best babysitter for your needs, but we will make every effort to book any same day babysitting request and can usually accommodate you. Any last-minute sit requests are always subject to the sitters on hand and all requests to our confirming a babysitter to you.

We do not charge a late booking fee or agency fee.

We will be happy to go over any questions you might have. We are here to serve your child care needs when traveling. We strive to create Peace of Mind ® for the traveling parent by providing a fully screened, vetted and trusted babysitter to you when on vacation.

How do I pay the babysitter?

We hold your child care reservation with a credit card. In most cities you can either charge the babysitting fees to the credit card on file with us or pay cash to the sitter. If the babysitter's fees are charged to the card on file at the end of the sit, you will confirm the sitter's total hours, and any reimbursable expenses (e.g., at some hotels, sitter's parking) on our invoice and a receipt will be emailed the following day. In some cases, you may pay the babysitter with cash at the end of the sit for all fees.

We regularly get the question: what about tipping the sitters? If the sitters did a great job and you want to show your appreciation, please feel free to tip! The babysitter greatly appreciates a tip, but tipping is at your discretion. Most families tip between $10 to $20 on an average sit, more if longer hours or multiple day sits.

For sits longer than two days and for more than 4 hours each day, at a minimum, the above policy shall apply, however, please contact the office to see if an additional cancellation policy could apply to your sit.

We look forward to providing you with hotel babysitting, event childcare or childcare at other destinations!
